A software vendor has recently announced that they were putting an end to payroll updates for a version of their accounting software starting December 31st 2010.
What does this implies to migrate your company?
Migrating is like any other IT project, it needs to be planned to prevent any unwanted interruptions and bad surprises.
Following a migration, your data and personnalized templates need to be verified as well as add-ons functionalities that could include functions that were changed by the developers in the migration process of upgrading your software.
To assist you in this process, SIPD Services has developed a transition program for your migration from a version 10 to another so it can be as smooth as possible. This program contains 2 steps:
Step 1: Planning and simulating
This first step will prevent any unwanted surprises resulting from the conversion of your data to minimize time lost when the migration will take place. By simulating your migration on our servers, we assure that your data are still compatible, their integrity and the impacts this migration will have on your business. The adjustments that may be required to make the add-ons, templates, reports and checks compatible will also be evaluated and applied when possible.
Step 2: Data conversion
This step implies the actual migration. After securely backing up all your data, we will convert and re-validate them thoroughly. This step also includes installing any new changes made to your templates and add-ons,
This program allows you to concentrate on your operations while we take full charge of not only your migration, but also making sure you are up and running as fast as possible while minimizing unexpected surprises.
In that case and while we may have additional ressources to accomodate demands, places available before December 31st are limited. For this reason, SIPD will prioritize your company if you are doing payroll with the software.
If you do not use the payroll system available of this accounting software, don’t be alarmed. We will be able to support the software long enough for you to get your migration done.
